Established in 1969, the Faculty of Technology fully opened its doors in 1970 to 26 undergraduate students on three BSc. Programmes Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. At the time, the faculty was accommodated in a building with a total floor area of 6,000 square meters originally designed to house only the Department of Mechanical Engineering.On 14th August 2009, The Deputy Norwegian Ambassador to Uganda, H.E Gjermund Sæther, alongside then Acting Vice Chancellor Dr. Lilian Tibatemwa-Ekirikubinza officially opened the new extension.
